Happy Birthday Dad! My father, Arthur Korn, was born in 1910 in New York City to a single mother who had recently immigrated from Eastern Europe. He was adopted at 2 by another single woman and he was orphaned at 14. He lived alone and supported himself working multiple jobs at the same time - living with other families or in furnished rooms. He liked to say that he “graduated from the school of hard knocks.” He met my Mother when they were 18 and they married at 20. He was truly the smartest, kindest most hard working man I have ever known. As my sisters say “no one ever made you feel as loved and good about yourself the way Daddy did.” He and our Mom started a family that has added 4 generations - we are 43 and counting! He was so connected to all of us - family was everything to him.
He lived to be 97 and we all miss him today and every day.
